Dr. Jacques Otto,
Cosmetic Physician

As Medical Director of the Cosmedicate Clinic, Dr Jaques Otto is a highly qualified Cosmetic Physician with an impressive and diverse medical back ground. Dr Otto completed his initial medical training at the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 1981. He then went on to complete his Master of Family Doctor Practice Degree (University of Pretoria) in 1986; Master of Medical Pharmacology (University of Pretoria) in 1988 and Master of Philosophy in Medical Law (University of Glasgow) in 2001. In 1993, Dr Otto relocated to the UK and since 2000, has specifically specialised in anti-ageing and cosmetic & aesthetic medicine.

Over the last four years, Dr Otto has been extensively involved in the research and development of new anti-ageing cosmeceuticals, cosmetic products, cosmetic non-invasive medical device development and cosmetic & aesthetic minimally invasive techniques.

Recognised as a renowned authority in the cosmetological industry, Dr Otto has co-authored scientific and peer-reviewed papers and conducted international clinical trials on behalf of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the field of cosmeceuticals. He additionally holds appointments in the UK as Consultant/Adviser in Cosmetic Medicine for Cosmesis Ltd, UltraShape Inc. (Principal Investigator Phase II CE Mark Study) and Aesthera Inc.

Dr Otto is an approved international trainer for Botox®, Dysport®, Isologen®, Aesthera®, Ultrashape® and regularly conducts training seminars for medical professionals at the Cosmedicate Clinic in London . He is frequently requested to give lectures at cosmetological industry forums and conferences around the world.

A highly qualified specialist in Plastic Surgery, Dr Benito Ruiz is registered with the General Medical Council. Besides his private Cosmetic Surgery practice, Dr Benito Ruiz holds a consultant appointment with the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, one of the leading NHS hospitals in Spain . He is member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Spanish Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and has additionally been member of the Directive Board of this Society for four years. He is also a contributing member of several other scientific societies including the New York Academy of Sciences. His biography has been selected for publication in “Who’s Who in the World” and “Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare” since 1999.
